The Friends of the Library support and enhance
city library services for all Waltham residents. A
recognized non-profit organization, we fund
dozens of free programs annually for adults and
children, purchase feature films and museum
passes, and supplement the municipal library
budget by purchasing furniture and equipment and
helping to maintain the beauty of the library
gardens.
In general, library items are available to borrow at
no cost. The exceptions are feature films and extra
copies of bestsellers purchased and rented by the
Friends. These rental fees cover the cost of the
purchases and support the Friends activities.
In-between annual fall Book Sale fundraisers, our
ongoing sale offers used books of all kinds for 50
cents and a dollar. The sale shelves are regularly
updated, and worth a look. You'll find them on the
ground floor, where you can shop for bargains and
support the Library Friends at the same time.
Please join us in our efforts to keep the Waltham
Public Library as vibrant and strong as the city it
serves. Annual membership is only $5 for an
individual and $10 for a family.
